First Month of Life

Deedee turned one month old on Monday 17th... Yay!!! And she was able to celebrate wearing a red-white pirate onesie! Finally, some relief from endless pink! :D Thank you Stitch!

Yes, a whole month has passed… In these last two weeks she has gone on small car trips to mandatory places, and maybe (just maybe) her first visit to the movies will be around the corner. Her chattyness has increased, her interest in everything seems evident as she stares with her ovni-like eyes, and her skills as a spitting snake are flawless.

She has kept the mage quite alert at nights with her banshee wails. She has driven the mad witch even more insane with all her daytime tantrums… All the while keeping the intense stare that makes you think of anime series! Oh, yes, cute but psycho!

Our witchy Diva seems very happy with all the attention from close friends. Finally family has begun to show her some respect. And the plans for her christening and her first Halloween are in the making. Its such a busy life!

And now, a song dedicated to my dear Diva...

Every time I look
Into your lovely eyes
I see a love that money
Just can't buy

One look from you
I drift away
I pray that you
Are here to stay

Anything you want
You got it
Anything you need
you got it
Anything at all
you got it
Baby

Every time I hold you
I begin to understand
Everything about you
Tells me [you're my girl]

So I live my life
To be with You
No one can do
The things you do

Anything you want
You got it
Anything you need
you got it
Anything at all
you got it
Baby

I'm glad to give
My love to you
I know you feel
The way I do

Anything you want
You got it
Anything you need
you got it
Anything at all
you got it
Baby

Uncles dropping by...

Deedee has been involved in quite a busy social schedule this week! She has even become chatty and wide-eyed.

By daylight I try placing her in the do-everything room so she hears the background noise and starts making a difference between night and day. I've noticed that she's been more attentive and reactive this week, doing that baby blah-talk and watching every thing that goes on around her.

She met Uncle Groundel on Wednesday, hanging out in the mall while playing. On Friday aunt Nita passed by at night, and she proved herself quite comfy as Deedee slept over her for almost 3 hours.

Hopefully we can make it to Auntie's Place by dusk, and to church at night.

Diva update

Ok... For baptism the mage and I must go to a meeting... One is tonight but I don't know... Going alone is not too enticing (the mage is working at nights)... So we'll take it elsewhere during a weekend. That should give the designated fairyoddparents the time they need to get their Confirmation Certificates (get it at the office of the church where you baptized, they make it in less than 15 minutes). So... We will get the info of next meeting and attend, and then get a baptism date since the priest seemed flexible enough to say it could be done any other day. There is also the October 27th groupal baptism... So there are many choices, no stress. That should also give me time to get a nice attire for our Diva.

Midday... Diva sleep at its full effect, and slave hungry... And hunger gets what hunger wants! :P

As days go by...

Oh, its VERY hard to keep track of events and the like when days fly away faster than a speeding bullet. Almost no time to spare besides taking care of Deedee and trying to rest and trying not to forget my meals. The girl now drinks 4oz almost every 4 hours. Gave up on the breastfeeding issue since in any case is not sane and convenient for our situation... My being constantly exhausted and with allergy/cold/sinus didn't help the issue. But she seems happy. Daddy has been pampering her almost 24/7, and mommy has been reminiscing lullabies and cute songs she knows by heart. It is exasperating that each time Deedee feeds she tries going so fast she gets gas and then it takes 1 1/2 hours to take them out... But I guess it's all part of the process... May be a devilette at times, but then she stares at you with those lovely greyish eyes and your heart simply melts as if being gazed by an angel. Ahhhhh... See? Even I can say something cute every once in a while...

Planning to baptize her this next weekend. If there are no issues, the mage will fill the card today and I will attend tomorrow's meeting... It should be on Saturday afternoon at 2pm in Fatima. The mage and I decided the fairy-odd-parents should be people really involved with Deedee, not just strangers in the family. So, we asked LightShadow to be the fairy-odd-mother since she was the first one to jump up and down with joy when she got the news, and ever since has always been orbiting Deedee with genuine care. We decided the fairy-odd-father should be Coriolis, since he has been so excited about the Diva, got her tons of clothing, travelled to see her in the hospital and has even hurt his reputation as a sour old man by showing a pic of himself with the Diva... Now, to see if something else must be done or paid. I didn't stop to think she'll need a christening attire, so I guess that will be the emotion of the week... Whatever. She can pull of simple diapers and look stunning! (Ok, some pun intended there... LOL)

Smoldering temptress! Superstar!

Pretty in Pink

Three weeks later, here's a glimpse at my DIVA! So far, so good... On her last visit to the pediatrician, last Wednesday, she got her ears pierced. So now she has beautiful rubi-red earrings that complements her lovely eyes. She weighted 9 pounds 11oz, so she'gaining weight fast enough.

Went to WIC on Friday, and got her approved for aid until January. After 4 months she should start food, blah blah. I have been failing at breastfeeding, but will keep on trying over the next 2 weeks. I'll call it all off by the 15th if I have absolutly no success, no point in torturing myself or Deedee.

Deedee has been keeping Daddy up all nights... With that comes her crying, and he definitive call for attention. Just like her mother, an attention whore... Sheesh! The mage will have his hands full for some long 20 years... LOL...

Reading the What to Expect The First Year book. Got all the facts for breastfeeding, just need SOMEONE's cooperation, and to try harder and more frequently (which is hard for me, I get drained and tired too fast). Recuperation as a whole may take longer than I expected...
